Before every cycle
A blood count is checked within 48 hours of your session. Eat a light meal before coming and take your regular medicines unless told otherwise.
During the session
Sessions run from thirty minutes to a few hours depending on the protocol. A family member may sit with you. Tell the nursing team immediately about any burning at the drip site, chills, or breathlessness.
At home afterwards
Drink plenty of fluids for 48 hours. Fever of 100.4°F (38°C) or higher is an emergency during chemotherapy — call +91 94152 11144 immediately, day or night, and come to the hospital.
Between cycles
Keep a small diary of symptoms and bring it to each visit. Nausea, constipation and mouth care all have effective remedies — none of it needs to be endured silently.
