The planning visit (simulation)
You lie on a CT couch while we take planning scans. For head-and-neck treatment a soft mesh mask is made — it feels like a warm towel and hardens in minutes. Small skin marks or tattoos help us line you up each day.
Daily treatment
Each session on the TrueBeam takes 10–20 minutes, most of it positioning. The machine never touches you and you feel nothing during the beam. Most people drive themselves or come by auto and go back to normal activities the same day.
Side effects
Effects build slowly and are area-specific — skin redness, tiredness, or a sore mouth for head-and-neck patients. Report anything new at your weekly review; almost all of it is manageable if we hear about it early.
After the course
The response is assessed over weeks — the treatment keeps working after the last fraction. You will get a follow-up schedule and a written treatment summary for your records.
